Fall in Costa Rica
Fall in Costa Rica, is colorful, much like it is in other parts of the world. But instead of burnt oranges, reds and dead leaves, we see bright shades of green, pinks, purples, yellows and everything in between. Because September and October are the rainiest months, it's very lush and it's my favorite time of the year.
The other reason I love "fall" so much is the flowers in bloom. We have Ylang Ylang trees in our yard and they are very fragrant…someone once told me that Chanel No 5 perfume has Ylang Ylang in it!
The only real change is the weather which get a little cooler because of the rain meaning it drops down to a freezing 75 degrees. My mom and I have to put on sweaters and sweats at night….brrrrrr!
We don’t have a time change, but it wouldn’t make too much of a difference anyway since we are so close to the equator causing the sun to rise and set about the same time every day, all year round. So we start seeing the sun at around 5:30 in the morning and have sunrises at around 5:45 in the evening…I should say “afternoon” because the Ticos say “Good afternoon” right up til 6pm, even though it’s dark outside!
I live in such a unique location and it's so different from where I used to live in the States but I can say I don't miss the boots!
